(More customer reviews)I've had this case for about a week. While the outside of the case is a black rubberized material -- The inside remains a slick white plastic. With the case on your phone, there may be some white that is still visible around the edges. Nevertheless, the case still looks quite nice as it covers up the orange/blue of the Magnet/Hype with a sleek and smooth black.
Unfortunately, while the case *fits* my phone well (I actually have the Samsung Hype A256, which is compatible with this case too as it has the same dimensions as the Magnet A257 and A177) -- Since the case is made of two snap-together pieces, they're able to be pulled apart with very little force. I had to use tape on the inside of the case so the case wouldn't fall off of my phone. This could be a product defect, I suppose? Nevertheless, the case doesn't come off now and I'm even able to use the included belt clip which is quite handy.
Recently, I was biking and the phone dropped out of my pocket and tumbled along the ground. The phone turned out to be perfectly fine, the case took the brunt of the drop and came up a little scuffed around the edges -- I feel this case may have played a great part in saving my phone.
Considering how cheap you can get the case for at the moment (99 cents), if you want a hard-case for your Hype/Magnet/A177 and you can get shipping for cheap -- Go for it! Hopefully you won't get a loose case like mine...
