Although it's not very padded, the padding material is strong and seems like it will protect the laptop from minor bumps. The shoulder strap is thin but strong, and it is securely clasped to the sleeve with a metal clasp. The laptop I had intended this sleeve for didn't fit inside because it is a bit larger than 10.2", so make sure yours is exactly or less than 10.2". The faux suede is actually very nice, and the zippers are also very resistant and strong. Neat! And Cheap!
